ABOUT

Soojin Pray is a Korean ritual and media artist based in Seoul. Her interdisciplinary practice, which she terms The Path of Reweaving, navigates the convergence of ancestral cosmology, somatic movement, and digital technology.
Her work is grounded in a rigorous daily discipline inspired by Donguibogam (Principles of Eastern Medicine) and traditional martial arts. Beyond the visible form of dance, she researches the internal architecture of the body—breath, gravity, and the flow of 'Qi' (Energy). She views the human body not merely as a biological entity, but as a microcosm that resonates with the cycles of nature.
Treating the body as a living archive and a tuned instrument, she translates ephemeral acts of prayer—bowing, stillness, and resonance—into durable digital forms. She utilizes extended reality (XR), single-channel video, and the blockchain as contemporary tools for media archaeology.
Her work manifests in various forms: from site-specific ritual performances that intervene in public spaces, to immersive XR environments that guide inner perception, and blockchain-inscribed digital relics that archive invisible gestures.
Whether engaging with the immutability of the blockchain or the ephemeral vibrations of a singing bowl, her inquiry remains consistent: How can ancient technologies of prayer be preserved and reimagined within the infrastructure of the future?
By bridging the archaic and the futuristic, Soojin Pray creates spaces where the rhythms of the past intervene in the speed of the present, offering a profound sense of somatic restoration in the digital age.
